About the course
This honours course is available by invitation to students enrolled in ECU’s Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, based on strong academic performance in the first three years. You’ll deepen your understanding of factors that influence occupational performance across self-care, education, work and social participation across the lifespan. Fieldwork placements throughout the course build practical experience in varied settings. This is an AQF Level 8 Bachelor Honours degree in Occupational Therapy.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for professional practice as occupational therapists, applying evidence-informed approaches to support individuals, groups and communities to participate in everyday activities. Career opportunities span public and private health services, rehabilitation, disability and community settings, aged care, paediatrics, mental health, and workplace or return-to-work programs. The honours component also supports pathways into research-focused roles and further postgraduate study within Occupational Therapy.
