About the course
The Public Health Honours Major is a specialised honours-year pathway for high-achieving students within Curtin’s Health Sciences (Honours) degree. You’ll work closely with an academic supervisor to undertake an independent research project and build advanced capability in contemporary public health research approaches. Projects are developed with supervisors across a wide range of public health topics, strengthening originality and independent thinking in health research at honours level.
Career outcome
Graduates of the Public Health Honours Major are prepared for research-informed roles across public health and health services. The honours research experience supports pathways into postgraduate study and research careers, as well as analytical and project-focused positions in government and non-government health organisations. Typical directions include public health research assistance, health program evaluation, policy and planning support, and roles in health promotion and population health teams at honours level.
