About the course
This Certificate III develops foundational skills for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care work. You’ll gain practical training to support generalist health service delivery in community and clinical settings, working within defined plans, policies and procedures. The course is offered through flexible delivery options including mixed mode and employer-based pathways, preparing you for entry-level roles in Indigenous-focused health services. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations and public or private health services. Typical work supports delivery of generalist primary health services, contributing to health promotion and client support under established guidelines. Roles can involve assisting health teams, supporting community programs, and helping provide culturally informed care in primary health environments aligned to a Certificate III qualification in Health Sciences.
