About the course
This course combines core psychology with introductory counselling skills, preparing you to understand and apply evidence-based approaches to behaviour and wellbeing. You’ll develop research and analytical skills to explain how people interact with their environment, and gain foundational counselling knowledge. It also provides a pathway to further study, including Honours and postgraduate training toward psychologist registration as a Bachelor-level psychology and counselling degree.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply psychology and counselling foundations in community and health-related settings, supporting wellbeing initiatives, behaviour-change programs and client support services. The degree can lead to roles such as support worker, case worker or wellbeing officer, and provides preparation for further study in counselling or psychology. With additional Honours and postgraduate training, it can support progression toward psychologist registration from a Bachelor-level psychology discipline.
