About the course
This one-year honours program builds on prior undergraduate psychology studies and develops advanced, pre-professional capabilities. You’ll strengthen skills such as interviewing and counselling, culturally responsive and ethical practice, and foundational assessment and psychometric concepts. With academic supervision, you complete a substantial psychology research project to deepen methodology and data analysis expertise, supporting progression toward accredited fifth-year study and future psychologist pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for further accredited training required for psychology registration pathways in Australia, including progression to fifth-year accredited study within the 5+1 pathway. The honours year also supports competitive applications for clinical psychology masters programs and can provide a foundation for entry into higher degree research (e.g., PhD). Skills gained are relevant to research assistance and psychology-related roles across health, community and education settings.
