About the course
UniSC’s Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics prepares you for clinical practice designing, manufacturing and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices. You’ll learn client assessment, intervention prescription and treatment planning, supported by blended learning and substantial clinical placement experiences. The program is noted as the first in Queensland focused on this specialisation, building technical and client-centred care skills for allied health practice at bachelor level in prosthetics and orthotics.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles providing assessment and device solutions for people with amputations, musculoskeletal weakness or neurological conditions. Career opportunities include working as a clinical prosthetist and/or orthotist in hospitals, rehabilitation services, community health settings and private clinics, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise mobility and function. This bachelor qualification supports entry to professional practice in prosthetics and orthotics within the health sector.
