About the course
The Pre-Masters Public Health Specialisation is for third-year Bachelor of Science (Health Sciences) students who want to progress into Curtin’s Accelerated Bachelor Masters pathway toward the Master of Public Health (Practice). It provides a focused set of units to build foundational public health capability and readiness for more advanced study, supporting development of knowledge and skills aligned to AQF level 8 expectations in public health practice. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
This specialisation helps position Health Sciences students for accelerated progression into postgraduate public health study and for entry into public health-related roles across government, community and health service settings. Skills developed may support work in health promotion, population health programs, policy support and program coordination, as well as further learning toward professional practice in public health. This is an undergraduate specialisation in Health Sciences with a public health focus.
