About the course
Pharmacists make a difference to people's health in hospitals, aged-care facilities and local communities. In this course you will learn about how medicines work and their impact on the body. You will also develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise you need to make a difference as a member of the healthcare team. The course is fully integrated across units and themes, using an interactive instructional model that includes lots of hands-on practice opportunities. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework level 8 and Monash Graduate Attributes. Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to: 1. relate knowledge and skills attained in all themes of the course (structure and function of the body, drug structure, disposition and action, professional practice, comprehensive care, inquiry and innovation, and professional experience) to the pharmacy practice context 2. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
