About the course

The Graduate Diploma in Health Science lets you deepen your understanding of health issues in the Australian healthcare system and international models of care. You will explore socioeconomic, behavioural, biological and societal determinants of health and disease, build grounding in epidemiology, and learn how healthcare data supports decision-making. The course can also provide a pathway into the Master of Health Science in Health Sciences. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles across public, private and community health settings, applying skills in planning, management and evidence-informed decision-making. Career pathways may include health services management, aged care management, health planning, international health, health promotion, occupational health and safety, and occupational/environmental hygiene. The qualification also supports progression into research-related work within Health Sciences.
