About the course
Deakin’s accredited Bachelor of Occupational Therapy develops practical, evidence-based skills to help people of all ages improve participation, health and wellbeing. You’ll learn to assess strengths and barriers, and design personalised intervention plans for injury, illness, disability and environmental challenges. Interdisciplinary learning and over 1000 hours of placements across varied settings build real-world capability and confidence for professional practice in occupational therapy at bachelor level.
Career outcome
Graduates can work as occupational therapists supporting clients to live, learn and work more independently across the lifespan. Career pathways include roles in hospitals, rehabilitation and aged care services, community and disability organisations, mental health, paediatrics, and private practice. You may also work in home modification, assistive technology and workplace health. This bachelor degree prepares you for entry-level occupational therapy practice in a growing health sector.
