About the course
The Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) lets high-achieving nursing graduates undertake an independent, supervised research project. You’ll build advanced critical thinking and specialist knowledge while designing and completing a thesis that can improve nursing practice and patient outcomes. The course combines research training with guided project work and provides a pathway to future research in nursing at honours level. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for early research and evidence-based practice roles in nursing and health settings. The honours year develops skills in research design, ethics, data collection and analysis, and academic writing, supporting progression to higher degree research. Career pathways can include research assistant roles, quality and clinical improvement positions, and entry to postgraduate research in nursing and health services.
