About the course
Designed for high-achieving nursing students, this honours year builds research capability for investigating issues in nursing practice. You will study foundational research methods and work with a supervisor to shape a research question, conduct a literature review and develop a project proposal (including ethics where required). The course progresses through data collection, analysis and interpretation, culminating in an honours thesis for a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in Nursing.
Career outcome
Graduates can use the honours year to strengthen clinical practice through advanced, evidence-based inquiry and specialised knowledge in a chosen area. The qualification can support progression into research-focused roles such as a research nurse and may provide a pathway into Doctor of Philosophy study.
