About the course
This honours year in music is designed for highly gifted musicians seeking advanced study beyond an undergraduate degree. You will specialise in Performance, Creative Practice or Musicology and pursue an independent research or practice-led project with expert supervision. Based in Hobart’s cultural precinct, you’ll study in the Hedberg building with contemporary facilities and spaces for making and performing. This is a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in Performing Arts. The programme develops design, animation, visual storytelling, and digital media production for creative industries.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers as professional performers, composers/songwriters, creative practitioners, music researchers, or work in music production and technology roles. The honours year also provides strong preparation for postgraduate study, including master’s coursework or higher research degrees, supporting pathways into academia and research-led creative practice.
