About the course
Western Sydney University’s Bachelor of Midwifery combines foundational theory with extensive practical preparation, including simulation-based learning and Midwifery Practice Experience placements. You’ll develop critical and reflective skills to provide safe, evidence-based, woman-centred care across pregnancy, birth and postnatal support. The program is accredited and prepares you to pursue registration as a midwife in Australia through a Bachelor-level qualification in midwifery.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue midwifery roles across antenatal, birthing and postnatal care in public and private hospitals and broader maternity services. Career pathways also include caseload and group practice models, continuity-of-care services, and opportunities to contribute to research, education, management and policy development. The degree supports entry to professional practice as a registered midwife through a Bachelor-level midwifery qualification.
