About the course
The Bachelor of Midwifery prepares students for entry to professional midwifery practice, focusing on safe, woman-centred care aligned with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council standards. Study covers anatomy and physiology, midwifery theory and practice, primary healthcare, perinatal mental health, and care across preconception, pregnancy, labour, birth and early parenting. Graduates can apply for AHPRA registration to practise as a Registered Midwife.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to work as Registered Midwives across a range of maternity and primary healthcare settings, providing woman-centred care throughout pregnancy, labour and birth, and the early parenting period. The course supports practice in partnership with women and within multi-disciplinary teams to improve maternal and newborn outcomes.
