About the course
The Bachelor of Medical Biotechnology (Honours) explores how molecular and cell biology innovations are applied to medicine, health and disease. You’ll study fast-moving areas such as gene editing (including CRISPR), stem cell therapies, microbiome research, immunotherapy and data-driven approaches. The degree emphasises modern technologies like next-generation sequencing, molecular modelling and advanced drug-delivery to support medical discovery and translation in biomedical biotechnology at bachelor honours level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across medical biotechnology, biomedical technology and health-related R&D. Opportunities may include biotechnologist, development scientist, geneticist, clinical research associate, regulatory affairs specialist, quality control/assurance, production technician, or product/medical device support. Careers can be found in biotech and pharmaceutical companies, clinical trials and research organisations, medical device and diagnostics firms, and related innovation and commercialisation settings in biomedical biotechnology at bachelor honours level.
