About the course
The Drama major explores theatre from its historical roots to contemporary and digital forms, with a strong focus on Australia. You combine practical, experiential activities with critical thinking and writing to understand drama as an embodied practice of meaning-making in space. The major develops foundations in dramatic history, theory and criticism alongside creativity, imagination and empathy, undertaken as part of a Bachelor of Arts. The programme develops design, animation, visual storytelling, and digital media production for creative industries.
Career outcome
This major builds transferable skills valued in the arts and beyond, including critical analysis of dramatic texts and productions, research into performance traditions, and clear communication of ideas. You gain insight into how theatre shapes culture, policy and community identity, supporting work across creative industries and related sectors. Graduates commonly pursue pathways in theatre and film, performance, dramaturgy, arts organisations and arts management roles.
