About the course
The Bachelor of Laws with Honours is an additional year for high-achieving law graduates seeking to strengthen their LLB through advanced research. You will develop a specialised honours thesis aligned to your interests, often linked to law reform, and work closely with an academic supervisor. The course builds research capability and scholarly writing to support progression to higher degree study and research-focused careers in law at Bachelor Honours level. The programme builds legal reasoning, case analysis, and professional ethics for legal practice and public service pathways.

Graduates can pursue research-informed legal careers and pathways into academia. The honours thesis experience strengthens analytical, doctrinal and theoretical reasoning, supporting roles such as graduate lawyer, legal policy or law reform officer, research assistant, and paralegal in government, courts, firms, and community organisations. It also provides a strong foundation for postgraduate research candidature (e.g., PhD) in Law at Bachelor Honours level.
