About the course
The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) at Flinders University develops advanced research capability for health and allied health contexts. You complete an independent supervised research project in an area of interest, supported by coursework in research design, contemporary health issues, and research communication and translation. Designed to build high-level analytical and leadership skills, it also provides a pathway to higher degree research in health sciences.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-focused and leadership roles across health services, community health and allied health settings. The honours year strengthens skills in research design, data collection and analysis, ethics, scholarly reporting, and communicating findings to support evidence-based practice. It can support entry into roles such as research assistant/officer, project or quality improvement roles, and provides strong preparation for PhD study in health sciences. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
