Bachelor of Geographical and Spatial Science and Master of Environmental Science

About the course

This four-year Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s (CBM) accelerates your progression from undergraduate study to postgraduate specialisation. You’ll build advanced GIS and remote sensing capability to analyse spatial information and tackle complex environmental challenges. The course combines an extended major in Geographical and Spatial Science with selected units from the Master of Environmental Science, delivered on campus at UWA. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles applying GIS, remote sensing and environmental analysis across government, consulting and industry. Career paths may include GIS analyst, spatial data specialist, environmental scientist, sustainability or natural resource analyst, and roles supporting land and environmental planning. The combined Bachelor and Master structure supports entry into technical and interdisciplinary environmental science careers using spatial and geospatial methods. Preparing graduates for research scientist, laboratory leadership, and specialist technical roles in the sciences.
