About the course
This accelerated integrated Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition / Master of Food Science fast-tracks you towards postgraduate research and advanced industry practice. You’ll study food chemistry, human physiology, food biotechnology and how nutrition impacts health, linking scientific theory with hands-on skills. At master level you’ll undertake real-world learning and research with academic and industry mentors, including access to the Murdoch Food Centre and advanced facilities for food innovation and analysis.
Career outcome
Graduates can work across private and public sectors in roles spanning food science and nutrition-related practice. Career paths may include food scientist, nutritionist, food safety officer or product manager, supporting food production, safety, quality and product development. You may find opportunities in food manufacturing, food marketing and service operations, government and policy organisations, community health settings, research organisations, and analytical microbiology or chemistry services within the food industry.
