About the course
This flexible double degree lets you combine an engineering degree with a second bachelor degree to match your career goals and interests. The Engineering group supports a wide range of combinations, allowing you to pair strong technical foundations with study in areas such as science, business, arts or social sciences. Use ANU’s Degree Builder to explore how requirements fit together across the two degrees.
What you might learn
You will develop engineering capability alongside breadth from a second discipline, building complementary expertise for complex, cross-sector work. The program is designed to help you integrate technical problem-solving with knowledge from areas such as computing, science, business, economics, policy or languages. Planning support tools help you map unit requirements and electives, and many included degrees align with professional accreditation pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue engineering roles while leveraging a second specialisation for broader pathways. Depending on the paired degree, outcomes may include work in software and technology, data and analytics, finance and commerce, consulting, project management, policy, sustainability, or research and development. The combination supports careers needing both deep technical skills and domain expertise across industry, government and interdisciplinary teams.
Entry requirements
Applicants must meet ANU program-specific academic and any non-academic requirements plus English language requirements. Admission is competitive, so meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee an offer. You must satisfy the entry requirements (selection rank/ATAR-equivalent and any prerequisites) for both degrees chosen in the flexible double degree. Requirements vary by applicant background (recent school leavers, higher education, VET, or work/life experience).
