About the course
This Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation) major develops creative and technical capability in animation through studio-based learning and industry-connected projects. You build foundations in creative practice, animation history and aesthetics, motion design, visual storytelling and CGI, then progress to advanced production work and complementary studies/electives. The program is delivered at Kelvin Grove within QUT’s Creative Industries, preparing graduates for professional animation practice at bachelor level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across animation and screen-based creative industries, contributing to concept development, storytelling and digital production. Career directions may include animator, character/CGI artist, motion designer, storyboard or layout artist, and roles in post-production and digital content teams for film, TV, games, advertising and online media. This bachelor-level animation major supports entry into specialist creative production pathways in design and visual art. Preparing graduates for graphic design, multimedia production, advertising, and creative studio roles.
