About the course
This Fine Art major is designed for students who want to develop a professional visual arts practice within the Bachelor of Creative Arts. You’ll build studio-based skills across drawing, painting, print media, sculpture, installation and new media, then progress to self-directed projects. In your final year you can develop a cohesive body of work and present it in Curtin’s annual graduate show, supported by artists-in-residence. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates gain technical studio capabilities alongside transferable skills in creativity, communication and critical thinking. The major supports careers as a practising artist or in creative and cultural organisations. Typical roles include artist, artisan/craftsperson, arts administrator, gallery professional and curator. Graduates may work across industries such as arts and creative arts, community and public art, and related creative sectors including fashion, grounded in undergraduate study in design and visual art.
