About the course
UWA’s Bachelor of Environmental Science examines how human activity affects natural systems and how science can guide risk-based solutions for a sustainable future. You’ll build a foundation in environmental science and choose an extended major to focus on ecology or environmental management. The degree is designed to prepare you for evidence-based environmental decision-making and professional practice in environmental science at bachelor level. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers assessing and managing environmental impacts across government, consulting, and industry. Typical pathways include environmental scientist, sustainability or environmental officer, conservation and ecology roles, land and water management, and environmental monitoring and assessment. The course supports further study and professional work focused on protecting ecosystems and improving environmental outcomes as a bachelor-level environmental science qualification.
