About the course
This double degree major combines environmental engineering with earth sciences to build an integrated understanding of Earth systems and how human activity affects them. You’ll study how to design engineering responses that improve resource use, reduce environmental pressures and support a more resilient future. Optional units let you tailor the major to your interests within the BEng (Honours)/BSc double degree pathway. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that bridge environmental systems, geology and engineering across sustainability, infrastructure, energy and resources. Career pathways include environmental engineer, geotechnical and remediation engineer, environmental quality control engineer, health and safety engineer, pollution control engineer and water resources engineer. Earth-science roles may include earth scientist, environmental geoscientist, hydrogeologist, geologist and geochemist in the Australian market.
