About the course
This Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Geoenergy & Geostorage) focuses on engineering solutions for subsurface energy resources and storage, including technologies supporting the energy transition. You’ll build core engineering foundations alongside study of geoscience, reservoir behaviour and project design, preparing you to work with complex geological systems. The degree is a four-year undergraduate honours program in engineering at UNSW Sydney. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles supporting clean energy and subsurface projects, such as geoenergy engineer, geostorage/CCS engineer, drilling or reservoir-related engineering roles, and technical positions in geothermal and hydrogen storage. Career pathways span consulting, energy producers, resources companies and government/regulators involved in storage and emissions reduction. This is a four-year undergraduate honours engineering degree with geoenergy and geostorage specialisation.
