About the course

The Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) (Honours) prepares you for professional mining engineering work across Australia and the Asia–Pacific. You’ll study mineral deposit evaluation and processing, underground and surface mining systems, mine power and services, and mine environment and safety, with an emphasis on sustainable and safe practice. The degree is Engineers Australia accredited and includes co-operative learning with paid placement opportunities as part of this honours mining engineering qualification.

Career outcome

Graduates may work across mining operations, consulting and government, contributing to the design, supervision and improvement of mining systems and equipment. Career paths can include mining or mine safety engineer, mineral processing engineer, design or project engineer, maintenance or service engineer, materials and testing engineer, industrial engineer, sales engineer, consultant, and roles progressing toward mine manager.
