About the course
The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mining) at UNSW Sydney prepares you to design, operate and improve mining systems from extraction through to processing and project delivery. You’ll study engineering fundamentals alongside specialist mining topics, with strong emphasis on safety, sustainability, digital technologies and real-world industry practice. Graduates complete an accredited honours-level engineering qualification in mining engineering. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers across the resources sector and related industries, working on mine planning and design, operations, drill and blast, geotechnical and ventilation engineering, and mineral processing support. Roles may include mining engineer, graduate engineer, production or planning engineer, site engineer, or project engineer, with opportunities at mining companies, consultancies, contractors and government regulators in mining engineering.
