About the course
This Bachelor of Education prepares you to teach in primary schools (Years 1–6) and specialise in Health and Physical Education (HPE) through Years 1–10. You’ll study key primary curriculum areas such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, the Arts and HPE, and build skills in planning and leading physical activity and junior sport programs. Practical placements support your development as a classroom-ready education graduate. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.
What you might learn
You’ll build knowledge and skills to teach health and physical education, including running Sport Education programs, coaching and teaching a range of physical activities with expert mentoring, and creating inclusive, effective learning environments. The course develops confidence and flexibility for professional teaching practice across primary classrooms and HPE settings in Years 1–10.
Career outcome
Graduates are qualified to work as primary classroom teachers (Years 1–6) and as Health and Physical Education teachers up to Year 10, with capability to lead HPE curriculum and extracurricular sport activities. Career pathways include teaching roles in government and independent schools, supporting student wellbeing and physical literacy, and coordinating school or community junior sport and activity programs. This is a professional Bachelor-level teacher education qualification in education and HPE.
