About the course
This one-year Honours program in Education develops advanced research capability for educators who want to deepen their expertise and influence practice. You’ll work closely with experienced supervisors to design and complete a substantial research project, supported by research methods coursework, seminars and collaborative workshops. The degree can also provide a pathway to doctoral study, building leadership and analytical skills in Education & Teaching at bachelor honours level.
What you might learn
Your Honours year focuses on completing a major education research project. You’ll develop advanced skills in research design, data collection and analysis, evidence-based practice and ethics, and refine communication through seminars, workshops and presentations. You’ll also build professional capabilities such as leadership and project management, and explore pathways into education research, policy and further postgraduate study.
Career outcome
Graduates can use their Honours research experience to progress into education research and leadership-focused roles or prepare for higher degree study. Typical pathways include research assistant or project officer roles in schools, government and education agencies, curriculum and pedagogy development, inclusion and diversity initiatives, and education policy or leadership support.
