About the course
This double degree combines economics with professional preparation to teach in secondary schools. You’ll build strong foundations in economic theory and real-world policy, alongside curriculum, pedagogy and supervised classroom experience to meet teacher accreditation requirements. The program is designed for students who want expertise in economics and the skills to teach adolescents effectively in secondary education settings at Bachelor level. The programme introduces business strategy, finance, marketing, and leadership foundations for commercial organisations.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles as secondary school teachers specialising in economics-related subjects, supported by a strong grounding in economics and education practice. The economics component also supports pathways into policy, government and business roles where economic analysis is valued. Typical directions include education sector roles, curriculum and learning support positions, and economics-related work in public and private organisations with a Bachelor qualification in economics and teaching.
