About the course

Earth Sciences is a major within Curtin’s Bachelor of Science, focused on understanding Earth and planetary materials and the processes shaping landscapes, climate and the biosphere. You’ll study geology, geochemistry and mineralogy, and build practical capability through field geology, laboratory techniques, and remote sensing and data tools. This undergraduate major prepares you to apply Earth science skills to industry and sustainability challenges. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Career outcome

Graduates can contribute to industries addressing energy transition and the responsible use of critical resources such as water and minerals.
