About the course
This degree builds your capabilities as an early childhood educator while adding a strong leadership focus. You’ll study early learning and development for children from birth to five years, learn to work with families, and support successful transitions to school. The additional fourth year is designed to strengthen professional practice, social justice perspectives and ethical teaching (including Indigenous perspectives), helping you progress to senior and management roles in early childhood education at bachelor level.
Career outcome
Graduates can work as degree-qualified kindergarten teachers and early childhood educators supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing from birth to five years. The leadership emphasis and fourth year can help you pursue higher-paid and more senior opportunities, including lead educator roles, educational leadership positions and management roles within childcare and early learning services. This prepares you for professional practice and progression in early childhood education and leadership at bachelor level.
