About the course
This honours year is designed for high-achieving graduates of the Bachelor of Design in Architecture (or an equivalent pass degree) who want to extend their capability through a supervised research project. You’ll undertake an additional year of full-time study to build deeper academic and research skills around a chosen area of architectural interest, working closely with academic staff in a focused honours pathway in architecture. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates develop advanced research, critical thinking and analytical skills relevant to architectural design and the built environment. The honours qualification can strengthen pathways to further postgraduate study and research, and supports professional roles where evidence-based design, research and strategic thinking are valued, including architectural practice, design research, urban and built-environment consulting, and roles in public or cultural institutions within architecture.
