About the course
The Criminology major explores crime, justice and the social factors that shape offending and responses to it. You’ll examine the criminal justice system through perspectives including psychology, ethics and law, building skills to analyse contemporary issues such as policing, punishment and prevention. Designed for undergraduate study, it can be taken within broader degrees and supports pathways into justice-focused careers and further study in criminology. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across criminal justice and related sectors, applying analytical and research skills to understand crime and develop evidence-based responses. Career directions may include work in government and justice agencies, community and rehabilitation services, policy and research, policing-related support roles, corrective services, and advocacy or program coordination in non-profit organisations.
