About the course
This degree prepares you for professional social work practice focused on social justice, human rights and community wellbeing. You’ll develop knowledge and practical skills to work with people and groups experiencing disadvantage, and gain supervised professional practice experience to support real-world readiness. Graduates are equipped to promote social change and improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities in diverse settings. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can work across government and community services supporting individuals, families and communities. Typical roles include social worker, case manager, community development officer, access and equity advisor, aged and disability officer, disability services manager, domestic violence advocacy worker, drug and alcohol counsellor, and family relationship coordinator. The Bachelor of Social Work supports careers improving wellbeing and social outcomes in social work and community services.
