About the course
Flinders’ Bachelor of Criminology (Honours) is a one-year program designed to build advanced criminology knowledge and strong research capability. You’ll complete an Honours thesis supported by training in research design and methods, developing critical analysis, project management and independent scholarship. The degree is an entry pathway to higher degrees by research, including a PhD, within criminology. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
This Honours year strengthens your profile for policy, justice and research-focused roles by demonstrating high-level inquiry, analysis and communication skills. Graduates may work across government and non-government organisations involved in criminal justice, corrections, policing, intelligence and community services, or move into university-based research. Typical roles include criminologist, policy analyst, intelligence officer, community corrections officer, researcher or academic.
Entry requirements
Entry into one-year Honours is competitive; applicants typically need a bachelor degree GPA of 5.25 or above and must contact the Honours Coordinator to discuss the project and supervision.
