About the course
This honours year in criminology builds advanced, specialised knowledge in criminological theory and research methods. You’ll strengthen critical thinking and communication skills while completing a substantial thesis or research project under supervision. The program is designed to prepare you for research-informed roles in justice and policy, and to provide a pathway into further postgraduate study in criminology and criminal justice. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-focused and analytical roles across criminology, justice and public policy settings. Typical pathways include analyst positions, program and policy development, criminal profiling support, and consultancy work in justice-related organisations. The supervised thesis/research project develops strong evidence-based and communication skills valued by employers, and can also support progression to postgraduate research or an academic/research career in criminology.
