About the course
This dual degree combines media and communication studies with information technology to prepare you for roles where digital platforms, data and communication strategy intersect. You complete core communication units, a Media and Communication Industries major, and IT core units plus an IT major, alongside QUT You. You study both degrees concurrently across four years in communication and computing. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.

Graduates can pursue careers that bridge technology and communication, including digital content and social media roles, communications and media industry positions, and IT-focused roles such as business analyst, software or cyber security professional depending on the IT major chosen.
