About the course
This double degree combines journalism studies with a science major, letting you build strong communication skills alongside scientific knowledge. You complete core communication units and a journalism major while undertaking one science major from areas such as biology, chemistry, earth or environmental science, climate science or physics. You study both components concurrently across campuses in a four-year bachelor program in media and science. The programme develops media literacy, content creation, and professional communication skills for digital and corporate environments.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that bridge science and storytelling, including journalist or reporter roles with a science focus, communications specialist, media producer or content strategist in government, research organisations, NGOs or industry. The science component supports work in laboratories, environmental and earth science fields, or further study depending on the chosen major.
