About the course
This double degree combines communication studies with information technology, letting you build capabilities in community and public relations alongside core computing knowledge. You complete both components concurrently, blending media, audiences and public relations practice with IT foundations and a chosen IT major. The course includes QUT You units and is delivered across Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. This is a Bachelor-level programme spanning communication and computing. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that connect digital capability with strategic communication, such as public relations or community engagement specialist, digital communications advisor, content and campaign coordinator, or analytics-focused communication roles. The IT stream supports pathways into business analysis, software or enterprise roles depending on the chosen major, while the communication major supports work in government, corporate and not-for-profit sectors. This Bachelor-level double degree prepares careers across communication and IT.
