About the course
This degree explores coastal and marine ecosystems and the major pressures affecting them, including climate change, pollution and urbanisation. You’ll learn from specialist staff through skills-based coursework and extensive fieldwork, integrating biology, ecology, earth science and coastal-zone management. Industry and government engagement helps build practical, employable capability for work across marine and coastal contexts in a Bachelor-level environmental science qualification.
Career outcome
Graduates develop strong field and data skills to support evidence-based management of marine and coastal environments, and the ability to communicate findings to diverse audiences. Career pathways span government, industry and not-for-profit sectors, including environmental or marine consulting, aquatic ecology, scientific and fisheries roles, aquaculture support, catchment or resource management, sustainability coordination, education and policy analysis.
