About the course

This degree is a direct pathway for CDU students to progress into medical studies in Darwin through a double-degree arrangement with Flinders University’s Northern Territory Medical Program. You will build strong foundations in health and medical sciences and, by meeting specified GPA and timeframe requirements in the early years, can transition into the NTMP to continue medicine training. This is a bachelor-level pathway in medicine. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.

Career outcome

This course forms the first award of the CDU/Flinders double degree and prepares students for progression into the Northern Territory Medical Program. On completion of this stage, graduates may pursue pathways leading toward becoming a medical doctor after continuing into the MD program, or move into related areas such as medical or health research roles. These outcomes align with a bachelor-level pathway in medicine. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
