About the course
This honours degree provides an advanced year of biomedical science study with a strong focus on health and medical research. You’ll develop research capability through an honours project and build deeper knowledge relevant to government, medical and industry settings. The program is delivered on campus at Bundoora and prepares you for research-focused roles or further study in biomedical science at bachelor (honours) level. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles in health and medical research and related government and industry sectors. Career paths can include medical researcher and research support roles, as well as technical and product-focused positions in biomedical and life science organisations (e.g., technical officer, product specialist or technical sales). This honours year also supports progression to higher research study in biomedical science at bachelor (honours) level. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
