Develop your photography practice through advanced study and research in an honours year at RMIT. You’ll refine creative and technical capabilities, pursue an individual project, and deepen critical engagement with photographic ideas and contexts. The program supports experimentation and professional development while building a focused portfolio. This is an undergraduate honours qualification in photography within design and visual art. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue photography careers across creative and commercial contexts, including advertising, fashion, portraiture, wedding and sports photography, photojournalism, and specialist areas such as industrial or architectural photography. The honours year also strengthens research and project skills that support further study or roles requiring advanced visual and conceptual development. This is an undergraduate honours pathway in photography within design and visual art. Preparing graduates for graduate employment, professional traineeships, and further postgraduate study.
