About the course
This double degree combines the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation with the Bachelor of International Studies to build critical thinking and a global perspective. You’ll explore major Western ideas and texts across philosophy, literature, politics, science, art and religion in small, discussion-based classes, while also developing international awareness and language skills. It is an undergraduate arts and international studies program. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that draw on strong analysis, communication and cross-cultural capability across government, NGOs and global organisations. Typical pathways include administration, diplomatic and foreign affairs services, policy and social policy work, human rights advocacy, foreign aid and development, interpreting, international business and trade, and travel and tourism-related careers. These outcomes align with a bachelor-level arts and international studies qualification. Preparing graduates for graduate employment, professional traineeships, and further postgraduate study.
