About the course
This contemporary dance-focused Bachelor of Arts at WAAPA combines intensive training, regular performance and classroom practice. You’ll develop physical excellence alongside creativity, building foundations for work as a performer, choreographer or independent practitioner. The course explores dance as an art form and as a social and educative practice, while strengthening communication, critical thinking and research skills through engagement with industry and diverse performance settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers across the performing arts and creative industries, including roles as contemporary dancers, dance performers, choreographers, rehearsal or movement assistants, and independent dance practitioners. The course’s industry engagement, placements and performance exposure support pathways into professional companies, project-based work, community and education-related dance initiatives, and further specialist study. This prepares students for bachelor-level careers in dance and performance.
