About the course
This combined five-year degree develops high-level music performance skills alongside broader academic study through the Advanced Studies component. You’ll train in principal performance, ensemble work and core music studies, while choosing a major from the university’s shared pool to broaden or deepen your interests. The final year offers advanced coursework and/or an honours research pathway, building leadership and critical thinking in performing arts at bachelor level. The programme develops design, animation, visual storytelling, and digital media production for creative industries.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers as professional performers across orchestral, opera, jazz ensemble and musical theatre contexts, supported by strong ensemble and musicianship training. The Advanced Studies component adds breadth for roles in arts organisations, creative industries and cross-disciplinary projects, and can strengthen pathways to honours or further study. This prepares you for portfolio careers in performance and related performing arts work at bachelor level. Preparing graduates for graphic design, multimedia production, advertising, and creative studio roles.
