About the course
This undergraduate specialisation provides a foundation in modern geophysics, building strong understanding of geophysical principles and their industrial application. You’ll explore methods used for subsurface characterisation across mining and energy, as well as applications such as earthquake detection, groundwater system definition, infrastructure assessment and monitoring fluid movement deep in the Earth. It is designed to help tailor a science degree toward geoscience and geophysics pathways.

Graduates can apply advanced geophysical methods to support subsurface investigation and interpretation in resource and environmental contexts. Typical pathways include roles assisting exploration and production teams in mining and energy, contributing to geotechnical and groundwater studies, supporting hazard and earthquake monitoring, and working with specialised consultancies and research groups.
